Theme "Experience Tanzanian Culture through Food and Spices"

The Concept

Tanzania, officially the United Republic of Tanzania, is made up of more than 120 ethnic groups with local, European, Asian and Middle Eastern origins. The Arab colonial period brought with it a rich cultural heritage, whose key element is its broad variety of spices and recipes. Saffron, cardamom, vanilla and cinnamon. The region that was most influenced is the island of Zanzibar where spices are an essential ingredient of its inhabitants’ life and diet, so much so that it has became known as the "Spice Islands".

Hence, Tanzania’s decision to participate in Expo Milano 2015, with its exclusive content and design, within the Spices Cluster, an exhibition space of 125 square meters. To share their traditions and culture not only with visitors, but also with governments, international organizations, entrepreneurs and universities, promoting tourism and encouraging new partnerships and investments: this is Tanzania’s goal.
