1851-2015, L’ITALIA IN MOSTRA NELLE ESPOSIZIONI UNIVERSALI
Moderate by Carlo Durante, RAI EXPO...

London, 1851, Milano 2015 These are the dates that circumscribe the story along almost two centuries, the Universal Expositions, capable from the beginning to arouse the wonder of progress to visitors, peering in preview inventions and innovations exhibited in the halls, entering in fact, at the tip of feet, in the antechamber of the next era.

Italy has always been present in these major international meetings, bringing on the global the fruits of that creativity widespread, that the world has always recognized.

But what it really means to accommodate a World Expo? What is the history of
Italian participation? What legacies in the artistic, urban, economic fields, and perhaps even more importantly, what the personallegacy of visitors, in terms of momentum toward the future and national sentiment ?

A few months beforer the beginning of Expo 2015 Milano, we wonder, in the third round year cycle Bracco Foundation meets on the history of Italian pavilions and
the impacts they have on major events communities.

We spoke with Lucia Masina, lecturer in History Art Academy of Fine Arts of L'Aquila,
and Paolo Dalla Sega, lecturer in Development urban and major events at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan.
